Bobrová is a market town in the Žďár nad Sázavou District, Vysočina Region, located approximately ten kilometers southeast of Nové Město na Moravě and with a population of 888. It was likely founded by Přibyslav of Křižanov, and in 1252 Boček of Obřany founded the Žďár Monastery, to which Bobrová was dedicated. The distinction between Horní Bobrová and Dolní Bobrová was recorded from 1338, and both parts were gradually elevated to the status of market towns. In 1950, the municipalities of Dolní Bobrová and Horní Bobrová merged to form the municipality of Bobrová, which has again held the status of market town since 2006. Local residents often commute to work in the surrounding towns. The Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Horní Bobrová was rebuilt by architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel between 1714 and 1722. In 2006, alleged mysterious phenomena, described as a poltergeist, were reported in house no. 262 in Bobrová.
