Hněvín is a Neo-Gothic castle overlooking Most, with a history dating back to prehistoric times. The original castle was demolished after the Thirty Years' War and was rebuilt in a historicizing style between 1896 and 1914 by the Association of Friends of Zámecká hora. Today, it offers stunning views of the Most Basin and the Krušné hory (Ore Mountains), and is home to an observatory. The castle is one of the few remaining sites of the original Most, which was demolished in the 1960s-1980s.

Beautiful view. Unfortunately there was a wedding going on and it spoiled the impression. In addition, the restaurant was not accessible.

I was at the castle for Easter last year and this year. I was a bit surprised that compared to last year, there is still nothing new in operation and instead of toilets you have to go to the "tojka"... I don't want to be unfair, the castle is (from the outside) beautiful, the park with refreshments and seating is also fine, we climbed the tower again, the views from the tower and several other vantage points around are fantastic, but apart from the views and coffee in a quiet place there is nothing to go there. I'm looking forward to finally seeing the place come to life. It's good that it's being worked on, it just sort of takes time. Hopefully they'll also figure out a safer and more pleasant way for visitors who are huffing and puffing from the lower parking lots. The car park at the castle isn't at capacity but that can't be helped, it would just be nice to separate the footpath from the car access road when there is a dangerous serpentine. Dycky Bridge!
