The ruins of Návarov Castle are located in the Liberec region, near Zlatá Olešnice and Železný Brod. The castle, first mentioned as early as the late 13th century, has a complex history and served various owners, including the Swedes during the Thirty Years' War, who ultimately destroyed it after its capture. Today, the castle remains, following recent conservation work, are freely accessible and offer an interesting walk along the green hiking trail.

In winter the gate is closed, I don't know the reason. We were here in April four years ago so we know the layout and movement is still at your own risk.

The ruin is quite accessible. However, the access road is a disaster! I came from Zlatá Olešnice, through Lhotka, but such a tankodrome is rarely seen. It was not possible to drive faster than 30 km/h. I had to laugh when, after exiting the bend, a speed limit sign restricting speed to 70 km/h appeared in front of me.

Pleasant environment of a unique historical monument. This year marks the 380th anniversary of the destruction of Navarova castle.
